Dark Daughter Productions presents Drumshee Days (Dry Dance Hall Days Tales)

This will be an evening not to be missed. Live theatre has been so absence from our beautiful stage for so long and we are delighted to welcome Dark Daughter Productions back to the Abbey Arts Centre for this special 1 night only event.

Nora Gallagher, the Cloakroom Girl who sees all and knows all invites us to share her funny and sunny memories of Dry Dance Hall Days at Drumshee Parish Hall in the Summer of 1958. Drumshee “is a wee hidden gem in the heart of Donegal” says Nora.

These 2 comedic offerings from Maura Logue sees her in the role of Nora Gallagher. David Ison on guitar offering song and guitar music to texture the nostalgic mood of the 1950’s, Drumshee style!

**The show offers a Double Bill 2 episodes of the soap opera that is Drumshee Days, Series 1**

The Swanky Yankie tells of Nora’s night of romance, with a handsome stranger in the month of June, in the summer of 1958, “The night of me flirt and flit” as Nora says.

The Merry Widows introduces us to Nan and Nabla, the Merry Widows. “They have a say in all parish business” says Nora Gallagher. We meet also Cllr Sean Mohan the Cllr. who thinks he can charm the ladies and Fr Maloney the local priest among others at The Dry Dance Hall on a Saturday night.

Nora shares her observational memories of that Summer of 1958 in that wee hidden gem of a place Drumshee.
