Discuss travel writing\, documentary filmmaking\, and the creative life with one of Ireland&#8217;s best-known travel writers. He is also the founder and chief spokesperson of Gaeilge Tamagotchi\, a programme to promote the use of “endangered” Irish words that are slipping away from public understanding. \nManchan will also take part in the Allingham Concert \n4.00pm &#8211; Jane Clarke &#8211; A Conversational Seminar \nDiscuss poetry and the challenges of the writing life with one of rising stars in Ireland&#8217;s world of poetry \n&#8220;NOT TO BE MISSED&#8221; AT THE ABBEY ARTS CENTRE\n \n2.00pm &#8211; Miscellany of Short Irish Films Curated by James Gavigan (&#8220;A Quick Fortune&#8221;) \nJoin us for a curiously curated collection of short Irish film compiled by James Gavigan. \n3.15pm &#8211; James Murray/Whyte (M.Boyle) \nIn 1996 James Murray-White lived in what he describes as “&#8230;a lovely old farmhouse on Sheegus Hill outside Ballyshannon.” He became involved in local community drama projects\, and in other theatre and arts activities across Ireland. He says that “&#8230;my time in the footsteps of Allingham kick-started my writing career.” \n4.00pm &#8211; Radio Documentary &#8211; Listening Session & Q+A with Marc Mc Menamin \nAt Allingham 2015 Marc will present a number of documentary shorts dealing with the history of Ballyshannon from early cinema in the town to the famine and WW1. He will also give an exclusive sneak peak at two upcoming projects he is currently working on both due to be broadcast on RTÉ Radio this winter; Seamus Darby and the goal that made champions; Zandra: A Sentimental Journey. \n 6.00pm &#8211; T. Graham &#8220;1916 Outside Dublin&#8221; \n\n\nNext year&#8217;s commemorations of the 1916 Rising will naturally be focused on Dublin\, where most of the action took place. But what happened (or didn&#8217;t happen) beyond the metropolis? What was the intended plan (if any)? Did it have any real chance of success?
