Kieran Quinn will take to the Abbey stage to headline our Saturday night Allingham Concert. Over the past number of years, Kieran has developed a strong musical brand beyond his home-town of Sligo. His now-renowned theme nights showcase a wide range of Sligo’s musical talent and often feature up to 60 musicians led by Kieran himself. Amy Gillen is an astonishingly talented young musician, and there simply isn’t room enough here to list all her achievements. Amy will perform both classical and Irish pieces for flute on the Abbey stage for the Allingham concert, accompanied by Niamh Currid. Currently the co-principal flute in the Royal Irish Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, Amy is just about to begin her third year in her degree, so we’re very lucky that she will have the time to make an appearance at Allingham 2016!
Siobhán Calpin’s first appearance on stage in the Abbey Centre was in the Ballyshannon Musical Society’s production of The Sound of Music at the age of nine. She grew up singing traditional, folk and show songs and participated widely in shows, Fleadhs, Feiseanna and song contests throughout Ireland. She went on to study music in UUJ and voice in London before returning to Ireland as a UCD Choral scholar. Music has subsequently remained a passion in her life. This will be her first time to sing in Ballyshannon for many years and she is delighted to be home.
Siobhán will be accompanied by local virtuoso Niamh Currid.
Niall Gallagher will perform a number of songs from well-known musicals.
Niall studied music and has taken part in many college productions, including the recent Opera Excerpts concert and the colleges recent production of Offenbach’s ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’, where he played the roles of Mercury, Morpheus and Minos.

Niall is currently in rehearsals for “All Wrapped Up” which will take place in the National Concert Hall on December 3rd 2016.
Niamh is no stranger to the Allingham Festival or Ballyshannon audiences, so we’re delighted that she’s making a return to the Abbey stage on Saturday night to play accompaniment to Niall Gallagher, Siobhán & Seanan and Amy Gillen…which just goes to show how versatile Niamh is!
