Rory and Mickey team up with a few other fantastic Irish musicians for what will be a perfect feel good seasonal party night out.
Mixing some of their own chart hits with some classic Christmas songs and even a few Irish singalongs, A night to share a few eggnogs or hot totties and sing your heart out.
Mickey Joe Harte had been winning songwriting contests years before he was propelled into the limelight with his performance of “We’ve got the world” in the 2003 Eurovision song contest final. He followed this up with a string of top 10 hits with “Never wanna let u down” & “sound of the summer” being shortlisted as singles of the year by Today FM. He has had 3 top 20 albums in Ireland between 2003 – 2015 and His recent writing work with Paul Brady and his growing success in Germany has helped cement him as one of Donegal’s most treasured exports.
Rory Gallagher has used the project name “Rory & the island” since 2010 due to a lot of google search confusion with the Ballyshannon blues legend!.
‘Rory and The Island’ has had 8 top 40 songs in the Irish iTunes charts, with “Jimmy’s Winning Matches” breaking through to the actual overall Irish top 10 in Oct 2012 and becoming an all time cult Donegal Anthem.
Rory was the bass player and lead vocalist and songwriter with Irish Pop/Punk group ‘The Revs’ from 2000 to 2007. The Revs had 2 top 5 albums in Ireland and after disbanding Rory moved to Lanzarote where he later opened up “the island bar”.
In the summer of 2019 Rory found himself supporting the likes of The Alabama 3, The Academic and Feeder with their latest single “so little time” breaking through on the RTE playlist.
