Donegal photographer Emer O’Shea visited Cuba in 2016 and captured the many facets of this enigmatic Caribbean island. Her photographic project comprises an exhibition of over 20 high quality framed works, together with a 20 minute slide show covering over 200 images. She explores the themes of history , culture, people , places , nature and challenges.
Cuba is a fascinating country which has carved out a unique place in today’s world. It is amazingly colourful – a blend of the past and present with an engaging and resilient people.The links between Cuba and Ireland are acknowledged and recognised in Cuba – most especially so in this inscription which features on one of Havana’s principal streets –

All profits from Sales of Prints will be donated to Dr. David Hickey (formerly of Beumont Hospital)’s Fund for Cuban Medical Aid.
Ambassador Herrera Hernández will travel to Donegal to attend the Che Abú Festival, which takes place in Ardara from Friday to Sunday, October 6-8. Organised by the Cuban Support Group Ireland and the Cuban Embassy, the Festival will celebrate the life and legacy Che Ernersto Guevara (1928-1967) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death.
